The Weatherhead School of Management’s Associate Director for Career Development is a part of a specialized counseling team focused on assisting students and alumni in finding career opportunities to achieve their professional goals. The position reports to the Director for Career Development and is directly responsible for managing all student advising activities including assessment, career strategy, career advising, and career search skill development, including workshop development, coordination and scheduling and managing an MBA core course: Individual Professional Development Program.
This position will collaborate with key stakeholders to develop graduates who achieve fulfilling careers, who acquire skills to adapt to a dynamic global business environment, and who become alumni loyal to Weatherhead. By experience and demeanor, the Associate Director for Career Development will offer unique insights into the multidisciplinary world of management and be capable of developing mutually beneficial relationships with students, faculty and employers. This individual will have proven abilities as a creative, innovative, team-oriented professional with demonstrated abilities to influence students establish priorities and maintain focus on goals while managing various projects.

| Qualifications |
Experience
Seven years professional experience, preferably in Human Resources, Training & Development or Career Development, in a corporation, university, a public agency or consulting/staffing firm. Experience in recruitment and selection for professional level roles in finance, marketing, healthcare, law, consulting or other professional fields.
Education/licensing
Bachelor’s degree required. MBA or Master degree preferred. Additional education credentials (JD, PhD, or HR certifications) preferred.

• Ability, both in demeanor and experience to successfully engage employers in the mentoring and hiring of students.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving and organizational abilities.
• High motivational and follow-up skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with students, alumni, staff, Faculty, and employers.
• Superior interpersonal and writing skills.
• Ability to effectively handle and meet deadlines.
• Ability to instruct, mentor and otherwise assist in the professional development of staff.
• Ability to communicate and market the services and programs of the Career Development office to potential students, current students, employers, faculty and other staff.
Technical skills
PC literate with ability to use Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint and Symplicity/Career Link required.
