CAAO Network Map
According to Toby Stuart*, a professor at the Harvard Business
School and the winner of the 2007 Ewing Marion Kauffman Prize
Medal for Distinguished Research in Entrepreneurship, to be a
successful entrepreneur, the people you know are as important
as your ideas. Stuart received the Medal for his pioneering research
into social networks and their effects on entrepreneurship. His
work points to the dynamics of networking and proves that successful
entrepreneurs need more than good ideas and intelligence. They
also need to be perceived positively in their networks.
CAAO’s network mapping project is a step in the direction of strengthening
the social networks among both entrepreneurs and those who are
employees in the African American community of Northeast Ohio.
We ask you to help us by defining your personal connectivity
so that we may better understand the African American networks
in NE Ohio. We will use your information to measure the changes
in growth, size, and connectivity.
Information gathered will consist of the following:
Contact information of the individual filling out the form, Name,
Email, Organization and Zip Code.
We are seeking information about your connections in the following
areas:
- People with whom you collaborate.
- People you go to for advice and mentoring.
- People with whom you share ideas.
- Professional Memberships
Download the Network Map Form here,
and return it CAAO via mail, fax or Email as noted on the document.
