Black Data Processing Association

The BDPA Cleveland Chapter hosts the Student Information Technology Scholarship (SITES)  program. BDPA is currently training students from several high schools using a computer lab at Tri-C Eastern campus (1st Saturday of each month). National Association of Black Accountants

The Cleveland Chapter of NABA participates in the Community – Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program, which prepares taxes for low-income individuals for free.  

National Technical Association

The Cleveland Chapter of NTA offers an educational program called New Approach to Self Achievement (N.A.S.A.) project.This is a six week summer program for 50 inner city youths in the 6th, 7th, and 8th grades. This is an Afrocentric program with parents serving as managers on Saturdays. The program is held Monday through Thursday and Saturday. The chapter also sponsors a basketball outing on Thursdays at the Fairview Recreation Center from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. http://www.ntaonline.org

President’s Council

The President’s Council Foundation’s Emerging Entrepreneur Program was created in response to the mentoring and training void for African American entrepreneurs. The objective of the emerging entrepreneurs program is to provide access to innovative ideas and to provide tools to help entrepreneurs grow their businesses.

The President’s Council partners with Baldwin-Wallace College. Professors from Baldwin-Wallace College team up with seasoned African American entrepreneurs to teach a variety of topics and present case studies.  Classes are held once a month. Members of the President’s Council serve as mentors for the emerging entrepreneurs. The selection criteria for the Emerging Entrepreneurs program is as follows:

  • The entrepreneur must have been in the existing business for a minimum of three years
  • The entrepreneur must have an associate degree or the equivalent in work experience
  • The business must have a high propensity for growth
